Digitize your fabric
100% fabric – 100% digital.
Munich Fabric Start brings the future to Munich. FABRIC.iD digitizes your fabrics - loss-free. Structure, weight, elasticity, color compositions, translucency, flexural rigidity: every detail of the fabric's properties is captured by the new xTex texture scanner and the new can:scan color scanner and transformed into virtual data. The digitization process creates a fabric ID that makes your textiles technically identifiable, traceable and usable. The innovative result is a digital twin, which reproduces the texture and color of the materials realistically and flawlessly.
Contemporary, innovative, authentic
can:scan and xTex achieve what was previously impossible: the exact color capture of textiles and the creation of true-color digital patterns. Three-dimensional objects can be scanned with the highest precision - even color nuances created by light and shadow can be differentiated, measured and displayed using the new technology.
Once digitized, the samples can be measured without restriction on any monitor and processed for sales, product presentations, design processes or fittings on avatars. This makes time-consuming and costly transportation obsolete, reduces lead time, cuts costs for textile samples and delivers better, more accurate results - always in time for the collection launch.
Contemporary, innovative, authentic: Create designs online, build prototypes quickly and easily virtually and offer customers a holistic user experience - with FABRIC.iD.
Digital Scanning
The scanning process provides loss-free digitization of your fabric. It captures the structure, weight, elasticity, color composition, translucency and flexural rigidity in every detail of the fabric composition and transforms it into virtual data. The digitization process creates a unique fabric ID that makes your textiles technically identifiable, traceable and usable. The innovative result is a digital twin, which reproduce the texture and color of the materials realistically and flawlessly.
Color capture
Highest precision in capturing three-dimensional objects - even color nuances caused by light and shadow can be differentiated, measured and displayed by the new technology.
Digital Twin
Once digitized, the samples can be measured without restriction on any monitor and processed for sales, product presentations, design processes or fittings on avatars.
Fast and precise
Time-consuming and costly transports are obsolete, lead time is reduced, textile sample costs are cut and more accurate results are delivered - always in time for the collection launch.
Trendsetting
Contemporary, innovative, authentic: Create designs online, build prototypes quickly and easily virtually. This allows you to offer your customers a holistic user experience.
The process
The innovative digitization of FABRIC.iD takes place in the Fabric Studio at Munich Fabric Start. There, the textiles are scanned - within a very short time, the exact texture can be recognized and transformed.
1. Scanning
In the first step, the exact color and pattern is defined, then the surface structure is determined.
2. Physical Analysis
To complete the process, we then perform a physical material analysis to precisely determine the weight, bending stiffness, thickness, elasticity and other material properties of your textile. This enables an accurate simulation of the drape properties of your fabric.
3. Digitization
The professionals at FABRIC.iD take care of the perfect implementation of the digital texture maps based on the data created in this way.
4. Knowhow
In addition, FABRIC.iD also understands the spectral yarn color values of the dye house and the weaving data of industrial looms to generate visually correct and color-correct textures for your 3D application.
5. Modifications
Not subjectively made modifications, but validly collected data ensure a high degree of authenticity and recognizability between physical and virtual product.
6. Compatibility
By using the open source U3M format, your digital material is compatible with almost any 3D-enabled application.
A unique technology
Munich Fabrics Start allows you to digitize your fabrics time-efficiently and flexibly throughout the year. You can send in your fabric samples by mail before our trade show dates to work hybrid at the event - with physical and digital fabrics. For a modern, all-encompassing trade show appearance. Of course, you can also send us your fabrics after the trade fairs - we will return them worldwide for an additional fee or dispose them climate-friendly. We will also be happy to accept your orders online soon and advise you on the optimum scanning process for your fabrics.
After the digitization, we will make the data available to you for further processing. The future of the industry starts now, at Munich Fabrics Start in Munich. A unique technology - get your FABRIC.iD now!
